Do Today Well
July 16, 2026
One trap I keep falling into is measuring myself by outcomes.
Did the deal close? Did the numbers move? Did the plan work?
But every time I step back, I arrive at the same conclusion. By the time an outcome shows up, the work that produced it happened weeks or months ago. Outcomes arrive late. They are the result of hundreds of small actions taken consistently over time.
Therefore, the only thing I truly control is the process.
Did I prepare well? Did I show up? Did I execute today’s planned items with care?
When I focus on those questions instead, the anxiety fades. And oddly enough, that is also when the results begin to improve.
You cannot will an outcome into existence.
You can only do today’s work well, and let it add up.
