What Doesn’t Kill Us Makes Us Stronger

“What does not kill me makes me stronger.”
Friedrich Nietzsche
We have often heard the familiar advice from our parents, teachers, and mentors: “Value yourself. Only then can you truly excel.”
But here’s the paradox: I believe genuine self-confidence and self-worth stem from overcoming difficult challenges and hardships. When we face and conquer adversity, self-confidence becomes a natural by-product of the experience.
The most resilient and self-assured individuals I know are those who have endured hardships such as battling cancer, coping with the loss of a loved one, rebuilding their lives after bankruptcy, or starting over after losing a job.
The truth is we all encounter obstacles, and we find ways to overcome them. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. It is through these trials that we discover our inner strength and develop a true sense of self-worth.
In case you find yourself thinking, “I haven’t faced significant hardships”, consider it to be your challenge-To figure out what it is you want to do that is hard.
