The Price of What We Want
December 4, 2025
When I look back at the year, two goals stand out.
One: I wanted to run half-marathons. I woke up early, trained consistently, fixed my diet, and I got there.
Two: I said I wanted to learn Bahasa. But I kept postponing the online classes, telling myself work was busy. And naturally, it didn’t happen.
The contrast is simple.
One goal mattered enough for me to commit fully.
The other only mattered in theory, not in action.
That’s the truth about performance: If I don’t get what I want, it’s a sign either that I don’t really want it or that I am not willing to pay the price it takes.
