Focus On Less
May 19, 2026
I was recently engaging with a colleague. Last year was difficult. Things did not go as planned and when we sat down to understand what went wrong, the answer was both simple and uncomfortable.
We were doing too many things.
We had spread ourselves so thin across so many opportunities that nothing got the attention it truly deserved. Every opportunity felt urgent. Every direction looked promising. And in trying to capture everything, we ended up with very little.
The fix was not to work harder. It was to do less, deliberately.
Pick the two or three things that matter most. Go deep on them. Do them exceptionally well. Let the results speak.
Something experience has taught me. When you make the most of one opportunity, more opportunities come your way. When you move strongly in one direction, more paths begin to open up ahead.
To get more, focus on less.
The opportunities you are chasing will eventually start chasing you.
