The People Who Remember
July 21, 2026
An acquaintance reached out today, almost out of the blue.
It had been nearly a decade.
He used to work in my previous organization. We were connected on LinkedIn, but have not really been in touch. Today, he referred a potential client opportunity for my company.
What stayed with me was why he remembered me.
Apparently, I had helped him with something many years ago. I do not even remember the details clearly. But he did.
It made me think about how life quietly keeps account.
The people who show up for you are rarely the ones you tried hard to impress. More often, they are people you helped when there was nothing in it for you.
A small introduction. A patient conversation. A problem solved. A door opened.
At that time, it feels like a simple thing.
But people remember who made life easier for them.
And one day, without noise or drama, they open a door for you too.
