Quality Of Life
July 22, 2026
We often say we want a great quality of life.
When I was younger, I thought that meant comfort. A better home. Better holidays. Better conveniences.
But with age and the benefit of hindsight, I see it differently.
Quality of life is really the freedom to make choices that are not driven by fear.
The freedom to choose work that teaches you something. The freedom to say no to things that drain you. The freedom to take a month off and travel without feeling guilty. The freedom to live without constantly negotiating with anxiety.
Money helps. Health helps. Relationships help.
But only because they create choice.
And perhaps that is the real marker of a good life.
Not necessarily having everything.
But having the confidence and freedom to choose what matters.
