We’ve all had moments when someone’s comment feels like an attack.

Our mind races to defend, to explain, to prove we’re right. But then, often, what we call judgment is simply feedback brushing against our insecurity.

Feeling judged is less about what was said and more about what we fear it means about us. The pause between reaction and reflection is where growth begins. Instead of defending, ask: Why did that sting? In that question lies self-awareness—the quiet power to turn discomfort into understanding, and misunderstanding into connection.
